Based in the New Lodge area of North Belfast, Artillery Youth Centre is a youth led project for young adults. It is an independent organisation and works with marginalised groups including young parents, young offenders and youth at risk.
Artillery Youth Centre applied to the Foundation for funding towards a part-time worker to co-ordinate volunteers and help to empower young people by getting them involved in decision making. They were successful in securing £6,739 towards the Worker's salary.
Cairnlodge Amateur Boxing Club trains young people from the age of 5 in the art and discipline of amateur boxing. The training provided includes fitness training, healthy eating, drug awareness, social responsibility, cross community and racial integration.
The Boxing Club is situated in the Shankill area of West Belfast, an area that has a high level of anti-social behaviour, a problem the Club is very keen to address and reduce. The Coaches of the Club work on a voluntary basis and are passionate about increasing community pride, racial and religious tolerance and providing a high level of discipline in the youth that they support.

L'Arche Belfast provides full time care for those with learning difficulties in a loving and attentive manner. The care is provided in ordinary dwelling houses where the members have their own individual space and are cared for by Care Assistants. L'Arche communties create opportunities for people with learning disabilities to take their place in the world, realising their potential and helps them to make an active contribution to the world.
The organisation obtained the use of an allotment in Dundonald Streamvale Farm which could be used by its members to grow vegetables and fruit. The area also served as a peaceful rest place and learning area for both the core members and their carers.
