Below are common questions regarding the International Grant Programme. If your questions are not addressed below, please contact us on 028 9032 3000. What type of things do you fund? The programme is about providing practical support to indigenous people in poorer countries overseas. How much can you apply for? You can apply for up to £5,000 for smaller projects or up to £10,000 for larger projects. What areas do you not fund? We will not fund an organisation which is not a registered charity or a project which is not supported from Northern Ireland. We also will not fund individuals, animal welfare or environmental projects through this grant programme. We will not cover flight costs, accommodation or professional fees for individuals from the UK. For more details please see the Guidelines. When does the programme close? At 5.00pm on Friday, 26th August 2011. When do your Trustees meet? The International Committee will meet to discuss the applications in November. Decisions will be made at a Board Meeting in December. When will I know the outcome? You will be informed within 1 week of the Board’s decision in December. Will I get the full amount requested? You may get all or part of the amount you have requested. How long before I can reapply? The International Grant Programme is not on going. Therefore, there are no further planned calls for applications. If the Trustees take the decision to re launch the International Programme, it will be publicised widely. Can I send in a draft application? Unfortunately, due to staff resources and time constraints we are unable to accept draft copies of the application. You can however, speak to one of the staff team to discuss a project before applying. Can our organisation apply if we are not a registered charity? The Trustees will only consider applications from those organisations which are recognised as a charity. What documents do we need to send in with the completed form? You will need to enclose: A copy of AGM Minutes/ Annual Report Independently examined and signed Accounts for the last financial year HM Revenue & Customs Letter of Recognition ( The Constitution must state that you are set up to work in the country you wish to run the project) Constitution, signed by at least 2 office bearers A list of Office Bearers In the case of application for salaries, a job description and personnel specification Will someone come and visit us? You will not receive a visit from the Foundation. You may be contacted via telephone to discuss the project for which you are applying. Do we have to spend the grant within a certain period of time? We appreciate that there is some delay between receiving a grant and the implementation of a project. Normally however, a grant will be spent within 12 months of receipt of payment. What will you ask for if our organisation receives a grant? All charities that receive a grant are asked to comply with the Terms and Conditions as laid down by the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland. This document must be signed and dated by the Chairman of the organisation. In the case of working with a third party, you will be required to draw up a partnership agreement and submit a copy to the Foundation. Upon receipt of these documents, the grant will be released. We will also ask you to complete an International Evaluation Form, to tell us how the project went. Again, we are able to offer support here with completing this. If my application is unsuccessful, will I be told why? If your application is unsuccessful, a letter will be sent to you informing you of the decision. The most frequent reason for a decline is that demand for support always exceeds funds available. Other reasons include: Application form is incomplete or incorrect The requested documentation is missing The request falls outside of the guidelines The HM Revenue & Customs has not confirmed charitable status
