Requesting an Application Form

Application packs and guidance on eligibility can be obtained by telephoning the Foundation on 028 9032 3000.

The closing date for applications is 5pm, 26th August 2011.

Discussing the Application Form

We welcome the opportunity to discuss projects with applicants before submission.  This will ensure the project is within the criteria and provides and opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the application process. Please ensure your Constitution states you may work in the country you wish to carry out  the project. Please note this grant programme does not cover travel or accommodation costs as it’s focus is on increasing capacity within a country.

Contact the Foundation on T: 028 9032 3000 or use the contact form.

Completing the Application Form

The application must be TYPED. Please contact the Foundation to request an application. The completed application form and enclosed documentation must be posted or hand delivered.  Emailed and Faxed forms will not be accepted.

Please remember to enclose a copy of the following documents with your application:

  • Annual Report or Minutes of AGM
  • Independently examined and signed accounts for the last financial year
  • HM Revenue and Customs Letter of Recognition
  • A signed Constitution, which declares that you are set up to work in the country where you wish to carry out the project
  • A list of Office Bearers
  • In the case of salaries, a job description and personnel specification

Failure to do so will result in your application being an administration error and it will not go forward for assessment.

Assessment

Your application will then be assessed, normally by telephone.

It is helpful if you retain a copy of your application, so you can answer any questions and discuss your project with us.

Not all applicants will receive a telephone call.

The Outcome

The International Review Committee, made up of a number of Trustees will review the applications in detail and final decisions will be made by the full Board of Trustees at the December Board Meeting.

At this stage there are four possible outcomes, the application may be:

1) Successful - You will be informed by letter within 1 week of the decision. We will then require signed Terms and Conditions before we will issue your group with a cheque.

2) Unsuccessful - You will be informed by letter within 1 week of the decision. You may have a worthwhile project, however, too often it is the case that 'demand exceeds supply'.

3) Conditional Offer - Where the grant is towards a project which requires further funding, a conditional offer may be made. We will need proof of additional funding received by your group before the grant can be issued.

4) Administration Error - If an application is not correctly completed, or there are a number of documents missing, the application will not be assessed.

If you have not heard from us within four weeks please contact us.

Successful Applications

You will be required to sign a copy of Terms and Conditions and draw up a partnership agreement, if working with a third party.

Evaluation

Each successful applicant will receive an International Evaluation Form to complete within 12 months from receipt of the grant. This will inform us how our funding has been of benefit to your organisation.

Making a Further Application

As this is not an ongoing grant programme, there are no planned closing dates coming up. It will however be widely publicised if the programme is reopened.
