Stormont Hosts Reception for 25th Anniversary Celebrations

Local charities have been recognised at a Stormont event to mark the 25th anniversary of the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland. The Foundation has donated over £25m to good causes across Northern Ireland since its inception.

The reception was held at the Long Gallery in Stormont and attended by many charitable organisations alongside MLAs and other public representatives.

Sandara Kelso-Robb, Executive Director of the Lloyds Foundation for Northern Ireland said: “We fund a vast range of projects which enable people, especially disabled and disadvantaged people, to play a fuller role in our society. This can only serve to enrich our community, by providing a more inclusive environment for those who would otherwise be left isolated and undervalued.”

“The recent economic changes here have left many organisations feeling extremely vulnerable, having to take difficult decisions about where to get their funding from, and how to reduce spending without compromising their services to the local community.”

Nelson McCausland, Minister for Social Development said:

“I’m pleased to join the celebrations to mark 25 years of the Lloyds TSB Foundation’s work in Northern Ireland.  Many local charities have benefitted from the support of the Foundation and the significant investment it has made in many local organisations over the past 25 years.  I hope that the Foundation will continue to support the work of our local charities.”
